Welcome to DB Jam League! We are a dunk ball league. We lower the hoops to either 8.5 or 9 feet (depending on the tournament) which encourages dunking! Some other unique aspects about our league:
- We host one-day tournaments rather than a league over several weeks
- Scoring is as follows: dunks and shots behind the 3-point line are worth 2 and everything else is worth 1
- Nothing is rewarded for an And-1 – it is treated as a normal made basket
- Bonus is at 5 team fouls per half and the fouled team will shoot 2 free throws worth 1 point each.
- We will typically play two 10-minute halves. Clock only stops in the last minute of the second half. 3-minute halftime. Small breaks between games.
- We play 4v4
- We will have an Elam-Ending (see picture below)
Currently we host tournaments in Provo, Utah. We have two types of tournaments:
Invite Only
- Next Invite Only tournament is on February 17th starting at 12pm EST
- 24 players are invited to these tournaments – if you want to apply to play, you can do so HERE
- We raise the hoops to 9ft for these tournaments
- These tournaments are with the best players and are highly competitive
- These tournaments are also available to watch via livestream – do so by going HERE
Register to Play
- Next Register to Play tournament is on March 9th (register to play HERE)
- Anyone can register a team to participate in one of these tournaments
- The cost per team is $120 or $20/player (single player registration)
- Minimum of 4 players per team and maximum of 8
- These tournaments will feature 2 pool games and a single-elimination game (3 games guaranteed)
Other important things to know:
- Friends/family are more than welcome to come watch, the gym has plenty of seating available. $3/person is the cost for all non-players ($5/person at Invite Only tournaments)
- Gym has a large parking lot and is free to use.
- Concession stand will be active and feature water, gatorade, energy drinks, and candy.
- All games will be recorded to capture some of the best highlights and/or bloopers.
- There are no refunds for teams or players that sign-up due to scheduling & planning complications.
